My first attempt to send this message was returned as undeliverable.
My apologies if anyone receives it twice.

The web page at:

http://www.nsf.gov/od/lpa/news/press/pr9741.htm

offers an overview and update of the investigation, by Gregory van der Vink
and colleagues, into the mysterious seismic event of May, 1993 which took
place in the Australian outback. They will present their latest findings
next week at the spring meeting of the American Geophysical Union on
May 28, 1997. One contender for the source of the seismic signal is the
impact of an iron meteorite about two meters in diameter.
